In a major relief to the YSR Congress President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the special CBI court on Wednesday relaxed the bail conditions and permitted him to tour Andhra Pradesh and also visit Delhi.
The court took this decision after hearing the arguments from the both sides. Jagan had filed a memo early this month in court seeking permission to relax bail conditions, which have prevent him leaving Hyderabad.
In the petition, Jagan apprised the court that a precarious situation is prevailing in the State and his presence is needed since he leads a political party and also he is an MP.
He had argued that he needs to reach out to people to know about their problems. He also told the court that he ought to complete the "Odarpu Yatra" (condolence tour) to go and meet the bereaved families of those who had committed suicide or died of heart attack following the sudden demise of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.
He sought the court permission to tour Andhra Pradesh and visit Delhi to deal with the issue of his resignation which was rejected by the Speaker Meira Kumar on technical grounds.
