If the speculations doing rounds in the political circles are to be believed, YSR Congress party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to go slow on Jana Sena Party chief and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan, while stepping up the attack on the Chandrababu Naidu government.
Jagan, who has started going into the people, taking up various public issues, is concentrating on making sharp comments on Naidu. Surprisingly, he has not made any reference to Pawan Kalyan, while highlighting the government's failures.
When he was in power, the YSRCP chief used to make wild allegations against Pawan at every meeting, calling him “datta putrudu” (adopted son) of the TDP chief and a politically ignorant person.
He was making comments about Pawan Kalyan’s multiple marriages to deride him and project him as a man without character.
Now, while taking to streets and issuing warnings to the government, Jagan has not been making any comments against Pawan Kalyan.
Apparently, he has realised that Pawan has gained complete acceptability from the people, who gave him 100% strike rate.
So, any comment against the Jana Sena chief will only backfire on the YSRCP at least for now. Since Naidu is responsible for the government, Jagan is focusing primarily on him and refraining from making any allegations against Pawan Kalyan.
While YSRCP leaders and social media supporters continue to attack Pawan Kalyan, Jagan himself avoids mentioning him.
Political analysts are questioning whether Jagan’s decision to ignore Pawan Kalyan is a calculated move or if he views Chandrababu as his only real political rival.
Reports suggest that Jagan’s previous attacks on Pawan Kalyan alienated a strong voter base in Godavari districts and Rayalaseema, prompting him to change his approach.
Interestingly, when Jagan is resorting to continuous criticism of the government, Pawan Kalyan has remained silent. This has once again turned the political battle into a direct face-off between TDP and Jagan; and Pawan is keeping himself away from this battle!
