Jagan decides to ignore rebellious leaders?

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy appears to be terribly upset with some senior party leaders, who have been turning rebellious and making embarrassing comments against his government.

While Jagan has adopted a tough stand against rebel YSRC MP from Narasapuram Kanumuru Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, who is openly attacking the government, he has decided to ignore some other party leaders who are deliberately ignoring the leadership and others who are questioning the government.

Party sources said Jagan is not happy with leaders like Nellore MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy who is making comments against the government and Kovvur MLA N Prasanna Kumar Reddy who is not participating in the party programmes, besides Anam Ramnarayana Reddy from Venkatagiri.

Similarly, Jagan has been receiving complaints against party MPs like Lavu Sri Krishnadeva Rayalu of Narasaraopet, Kotagiri Sridhar of Eluru and Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy from Ongole.

On Wednesday, Jagan is learnt to have made serious comments against Magunta, though indirectly. Referring to the MP’s recent outburst against the officials in general and the state government in particular with regard to the developmental works, the chief minister said he was giving the MP a long rope.

“How long can we wait for him to mend his ways? He is going in his own way and is not changing his attitude. What can we do? Let us leave him alone,” Jagan reportedly said, while interacting with the party leaders from Ongole.

The YSRC leaders told Jagan that Magunta, who defected from the TDP to the YSRCP before 2019 elections, had not been able to adjust himself in the party and was not maintaining good relations with the party leaders in the district.

They also complained that Magunta has been hobnobbing with the TDP leaders.

“In a way, he has become another Raghu Ramakrishna Raju for the party. He is making serious comments against the government and the administration,” they told him.

Jagan reportedly told the party leaders not to meet the MP and attend his programmes. He asked them not to invite Magunta to any of the party programmes hereafter.
