“The Facebook page of CM of Telangana has more than 1.25 lakh `likes' since July this year whereas his AP counterpart Chandrababu Naidu has a little more than 14,000 `likes'. Information technology minister K Taraka Rama Rao has received about 62,000 `likes',” said Dileep Kontham, director of the digital media cell of Telangana.
He was revealing the intentions of the Telangana government to storm the social media in a big way.
“Certain sections of the media are distorting facts and spreading prejudiced news about Telangana and the TRS government. Hence, we intend to approach the public directly through social media and apprise them of the huge development that is taking place,” said Dileep.
Nobody questions the plan of the TRS to avail of the benefits of social media. But saying that KCR has more likes than Naidu is like children boasting that, “My father is stronger than your father.”
