A newspaper that acts as a virtual mouthpiece for Chandra Babu Naidu has carried an interesting story.
According to the story, Chandra Babu Naidu had admitted during a meeting with his cabinet ministers that there was Rs 15,000-crore deficit in Andhra Pradesh budget. Apparently, he told them that he sought the help of central government and if they decide to bail out the state, then it would be nothing short of good news.
Else, Babu revealed that the state government will be left with only Rs 5000 crore after various expenses. Babu called upon his cabinet colleagues to put in serious efforts to make sure that the central government releases funds for the state.
Recently, during his visit to Delhi, Chandra Babu had submitted a wish-list to union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and various other ministers depending on their portfolios.
In the past, when the NDA government was in power, Chandra Babu could get many things done as his support was crucial for BJP to remain in power. But now, BJP has been voted to power with absolute majority. So, Babu is finding it rather difficult to get things done in the Centre.
In fact, he hasn’t got any support or assurances regarding the issue of waiver of loans or any other financial problems, despite his many meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We hope his lobbying works and the Centre bails out the state government.
