Chandrababu Naidu says that had it been left to his own choice, he would have chosen his hometown as the capital of Andhra Pradesh, denying allegation that he was being selfish.
Saying that no one can get him to change his mind once he had arrived at a decision, he also said that there was no question of seeking the opinion of the Congress Party on this aspect.
“Did the Congress Party consult anyone regarding the bifurcation of the State? They simply went ahead in a unilateral fashion without even consulting me, the leader of the ‘Opposition’ Party,” said Naidu.
What Naidu means to say is that he would proceed in a similar authoritarian fashion as regards the new capital.
And by the way, Mr. Naidu, if the Congress did not consult you regarding bifurcation, why did you give a letter to the Center in support of formation of Telangana?
