Internal Survey Shocks Naidu?

Internal Survey Shocks Naidu?

It has been more than two years since Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu came to power in the state and became the chief minister. Unlike in the past, he is now struggling to make a mark in the administration of a smaller state with just 13 districts.

And an internal survey commissioned by Naidu on the completion of two years in office has revealed several startling points that were a rude shock to him.

According to the survey, though 80 per cent of the people were by and large satisfied with his individual performance as the chief minister, 60 per cent of the people were quite unhappy with the functioning of his party MLAs.

The survey made it clear to him that these 60 per cent of the MLAs would lose in the next elections; which means the TDP will be out of power in 2019.

This has really shaken the throne of Naidu. He is learnt to have pointed this out at a recent party meeting before he left on his Russia tour.

He wanted to make a case study of the MLAs who have been consistently winning their elections and explain it to the non-performing MLAs.

He is learnt to have decided to give the sure-to-be-defeated MLAs one last chance to improve so that they would get the party tickets in the next elections. Otherwise, Naidu will go in for an overhaul of the party to pick up new candidates, sources said.
