The Congress Party had witnessed a bitter feud in Punjab in recent times between Chief Minister Amarinder Singh popularly known as Captain’ and Punjab Congress Chief and ex-cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu.
The issue culminated with Amarinder walking out of the Congress and starting his own Party Punjab Lok Congress. However, Navjot Sidhu’s joy was short-lived as he was not made CM and the prize went to Charanjit Singh Channi.
By the way, Amarinder in his letter to Sonia Gandhi questioned the leadership of Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi. He also blamed the High Command’s decision regarding Revanth Reddy.
“Revanth Reddy was once associated with the RSS. How can you make an RSS man as the head of Telangana congress?” questioned Amarinder.
He similarly added, “Sidhu was with the BJP before he joined Congress. How could you make him PCC Chief of Punjab?”
Ironically, Amarinder is believed to have started the new party with the blessings of Amit Shah. Moral of the story? No morals in politics!
