'I don't think Pawan will enter into politics'

Seemandhra Congress leaders are fretting and fuming at the contradictory statements being made by AICC general secretary in-charge of Andhra affairs Digvijay Singh on the process of State bifurcation with every passing day.

On Tuesday, Minister for Ports Ganta Srinivas Rao said Digvijay had no right to criticise the Seemandhra leaders and ask them to abide by the decision on Telangana.

He alleged that Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had moved the Telangana note through back door. It was a political decision for political gain, he said.

Stating that some Union ministers from the Seemandhra region were talking in defence of the bifurcation of the State, Ganta said the State division would not be possible before the ensuing general elections in the country.

Asked about the reports that power star Pawan Kalyan was contemplating to join the TDP, Ganta said, “I don’t think Pawan Kalyan, who is a super star in Telugu films, will enter into politics.”
