
The Guntur MP Rayapati Samabasiva Rao has said that he was still confident that the state would remain united, despite the current developments.
However, if at all bifurcation becomes inevitable, Hyderabad must be made a Union Territory or the second capital of India, he said.
Rayapati requested the Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar to accept resignations tendered by Seemandhra MPs.
In case the resignations are not accepted, he will speak against the Telangana Bill, if it is tabled in the Parliament. If the division is inevitable, Rayapati has put some more demands before the Centre.
He said that Bhadrachalam division shall be given back to Seemandhra region. He added that during delimitation exercise, Seemandhra region had lost two MP seats and ten Assembly seats to the Telangana region and he wanted them to be returned to Seemandhra region.
