In Telugu, there is a proverb ‘appu repu’ which when translated means ‘credit will be given tomorrow’. Now, Babu’s behavior is reminiscent of this age-old proverb.
Instead of saying that it is not possible to waiver loans to the extent of Rs 54,000 crore, he has been trying to postpone the issue and slowly prepare the farmers for no show.
Despite claiming that he is committed to waiver of loans, he has not set a specific date for the D-day. Meanwhile, he and his cabinet ministers are coming up with various excuses to make sure that the public don’t blame then in future. Till now, they have been maintaining that RBI and various banks are not in favour of loan waiving.
But it’s not just waiver of loans, Babu has also been silent on various other promises made by him in the past like a Singapore-style capital city, AIIMS, railway zone, etc.
Though he made promises left, right, he hasn’t started taking action on any of his promises. The TDP leaders too are giving the common answer ‘very soon’. Many are already wondering if Babu’s pre-poll promises are similar to publicity for a film that will never be released.
