How Many MLAs Back CM Kiran Reddy?

How Many MLAs Back CM Kiran Reddy?

Now the question that is bothering the Congress High Command is the support that Kiran Kumar Reddy has in the Assembly. They are unsure as to how many MLAs actually support the Samaikyandhra cause and CM Kiran Kumar Reddy.

It is a well-known fact that the Congress High Command faced a jolt with the way Kiran Kumar Reddy has reiterated his stand following the announcement of the Telangana state. Though they attempted damage control by trying to influence his decision, it went in vain.

In fact, Kiran complained about the Centre’s decision and urged the Centre to take appropriate steps before initiating bifurcation in a letter to the President.

Now the High Command has realized that removing Kiran Kumar Reddy is the only way out. But they are in a fix as they are unsure of Kiran Kumar Reddy stepping down at this juncture.

If the CM refuses to step down, then the Congress High Command will be left in an embarrassing situation. The norm is to hold Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting after asking the incumbent to step down.

Another major issue of concern for the High Command is the support that Kiran Kumar Reddy has among the Seemandhra MLAs. They are unable to gauge the numbers correctly.

The talk is that there are at least 30 to 40 MLAs backing Kiran Kumar Reddy at present. As the support of MLAs from Telangana alone is not sufficient to make the move, the High Command is now said to be involved in persuading the Seemandhra MLAs to oust Kiran Kumar Reddy.

However, with uncertainty looming large, the High Command may not attempt to change the CM for now, say some sources.

It is now being said that the High Command would focus on creating a situation where in the CM would be forced to resign on his accord or wait to take a crucial decision once the forthcoming elections in five states will be over.

Meanwhile, if the T bill comes to the assembly and it gets passed without any hiccups, then things will go ahead as the Centre had planned, otherwise many warn of chaos.
