It has been three decades that Congress MLA Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga Rao was killed in Vijayawada.
It was alleged that TDP leaders were behind the murder and the supporters of Ranga have attacked the houses and business establishments of the TDP leaders in the coastal districts.
Ranga was killed when he was on hunger strike seeking protection for him from his rivals.
While Devineni family, including Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, were allegedly involved in the crime, TDP leaders N Chandrababu Naidu and Kodela Sivaprasada Rao were accused of masterminding the crime.
It is a fact that the TDP was in power when the Congress MLA was killed and there are some people who know the facts and who are active in politics even today.
Ranga’s widow Rathnakumari after wining the Assembly elections on Congress ticket switched over to the TDP.
She also made her son Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, who made his political debut in the Congress, too went to the TDP.
People have no questions or doubts on their joining the party as they have Kamma background with Rathnakumari herself is a Kamma.
But what is shocking is that the TDP leaders are observing the death anniversary of Ranga in Andhra Pradesh.
How could a party which was in power when the Congress MLA was killed could organise the death anniversary of the same leader unless the party is making an attempt to win the votes!
The question is will the people accept the TDP observing the death anniversary and celebrating the birth anniversary of Ranga!
