Bharatiya Janata Party Telangana unit president G Kishan Reddy on Saturday strongly condemned the alliance between the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.
Kishan Reddy described the MIM as a communal and anti-Telangana party which had openly opposed the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in Assembly and Parliament.
He said the MIM was rejected by the Muslim community in recently held elections and it remained confined to the Old City of Hyderabad.
By sending a party delegation to MIM leader's house to discuss the alliance, TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao had insulted the people of Telangana, he alleged.
The BJP leader also opposed inclusion of Charminar in the official logo of Telangana Government. By aligning with the MIM, the TRS will be insulting both the people of Telangana and Hindu Gods, he said.
He also announced that the BJP would participate in the Telangana Formation Day celebrations to be organised by the Telangana Joint Action Committee from June 1 onwards.
