With Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao being adamant on shifting Secretariat from existing premises to Erragadda, the Opposition parties are making every effort to scuttle his plans.
However, Telangana Telugu Desam Party has come out with an interesting demand to pre-empt KCR from converting the Secretariat land into a real estate venture.
It suggests that a multipurpose hostel for SC, ST and BC students should be established in the present Secretariat premises if the TRS Government was determined to relocate the Secretariat to Erragadda by shifting the Chest Hospital.
TDP Spokesman Nannuri Narsi Reddy pointed out that the people of Telangana had fought and sacrificed their lives to achieve a separate state for betterment and development. Instead of striving for their welfare, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was engaged in either shifting or disposing off office premises in the name of vaastu, he ridiculed.
Reiterating that the KCR Government should reconsider its move to shift the Chest Hospital from Erragada and relocate the Secretariat there, the TDP spokesperson demanded that if the government was bent upon to relocate the Secretariat, then the present location should be utilized only for establishing a multipurpose hostel for SC, ST and BC students.
He also urged the Chief Minister to concentrate in fulfilling his election promises rather than in taking irrelevant and meaningless decisions.
