These days, Chandrababu Naidu is increasingly being referred to as 'smart Naidu' for the latter's emphasis on smart cities, smart technologies, smart farming and what not!
But how about the behavior of the ‘law and order’ personnel, namely the cops of Andhra Pradesh.
As long as mindsets and attitudes do not change, no amount of technological development can usher in a period of peace and prosperity for the people.
Lakshmi Kumari, a resident of ‘Bhavineni Bazaar’ in Vijayawada, had an altercation with her neighbors. Sensing trouble, she dialed 100 for help and a couple of constables arrived on the scene.
Unable to deal with the situation, they advised Lakshmi to lodge a formal complaint at the police station. However, when Lakshmi went to the police station, the ASI on duty who was drunk abused her and manhandled her.
If this is the nature of the cops in ‘Vijayawada’, right where the Seemandhra ministers are ruling from, then one can imagine the state of things. A drunken cop on duty in Vijayawada! Indeed!
What next? Can Singapore or Japan help us in this regard, Mr. Naidu?
