The Congress should have its own Newspaper and Television Channel to propagate its own programmes in Telangana.
This was the opinion expressed by former Speaker K R Suresh Reddy. Speaking at the two-day brainstorming session on Monday, Suresh Reddy opined that the Congress had to accept the unceremonious defeat as it failed to take up adequate publicity.
“Had we have our own media during the elections, results would have been different. Every activist should donate Rs 1,000 to the party to have its own media wing”, he said.
He suggested that the leaders make ample use of social media. The party should focus on the issue and set up a cell in the premises, he said.
Former Union minister S Jaipal Reddy asked the party men not to get disheartened by the poll debacle.
As people of the nation wanted to see some change, Congress had to suffer a debacle, he said, adding that it will again fly like a bird in the days to come.
The party workers should take a slogan that Telangana got the statehood due to the Congress.
He alleged that the TRS was not a secular party and may have a tie-up with the BJP. The TRS came to power by making promises which cannot be implemented, he said.
