State Minister D Manikvara Prasad Rao on Monday came out with a new proposal: to make Kondaveedu near Amaravathi in Guntur district as the new capital of residuary State of Andhra Pradesh.
Dokka told media that if the division of Andhra Pradesh is inevitable, the Centre should consider making Kondaveedu as the new capital of Andhra Pradesh.
He said he would abide by the decision of majority on Telangana Statehood issue.
Dokka, who met PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana at Gandhi Bhavan in the morning, said the decision of the Congress High Command was final and everybody should abide by it.
However, he said he would continue to convey the feelings of people of his region.
It may be mentioned that Dokka is among the top contenders for the post of Chief Minister for post-bifurcation Andhra Pradesh.
