Hopes And Despairs: What Is Happening in YCP?

YCP suffered a heavy defeat, resulting in all its leaders being confined to their homes for a month.

During this period, there were attacks by TDP alliance activists, but only a few YCP members responded. Former minister Gudivada Amarnath from Visakha district is taking the lead in this matter.

Amarnath condemned the ruling coalition leaders' fuss over the Rushikonda Palace. However, Rushikonda falls under the Bhimili constituency, where former MLA Avanti Srinivas served as the tourism minister for more than three years.

Old buildings were demolished in Rushikonda during his tenure, leading to discussions about his lack of reaction.

There are speculations that Avanti is not participating much in party activities, highlighting potential differences between Gudivada Amarnath and Avanti when YCP was in power.

Gudivada was given a chance to become a minister while Avanti was sidelined, suggesting a shift in leadership dynamics within the YCP in the Visakha district. This shift has sparked discussions about Avanti's sentiments regarding Gudivada's leadership.

All the leaders and former MLAs from the Visakha district attended a grand party meeting organized to celebrate YSR Jayanti. However, the absence of former minister Avanti Srinivasa Rao became a topic of discussion, with many speculating about his reasons for not attending.

There are rumors that Avanti, who was previously in TDP, might rejoin the party. However, he recently held a meeting with party workers, urging them to fight as the opposition for the next five years, indicating his intention to remain with YCP.

Despite this, some believe he is dissatisfied with Gudivada's rising prominence in the party.

As YCP is now in opposition, party leaders see an opportunity for those who take the initiative.

Looking at many absentees in party meetings, there is also speculation that many leaders might be inclined to switch allegiance, suggesting some truth in TDP's propaganda.

Some leaders hold the hope that their journey with YCP without any switching of loyalties would yield results in long run, but a few are with despair not knowing what to do.
