The plans of AP Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu to complete the construction of AP's new capital Amaravathi have been hit by higher rents, too much greediness and casteism in Vijayawada.
This was disclosed by none other than Chandrababu Naidu himself.
Naidu said while he had shifted to Vijayawada several months ago and trying to shift the entire AP administration to Vijayawada by June this year, the people in Vijayawada are not cooperating with their casteism and higher rents.
Naidu said he had been receiving several complaints about building owners in Vijayawada of enquiring and asking about caste of persons repeatedly who approach them for rented houses or rented commercial buildings. This has been annoying those who are coming from various parts of the country or world to settle in new capital Amaravathi.
Moreover, he said Vijayawada people turned 'too greedy' by demanding rents which are several times higher than Hyderabad. With this people are shying away from moving to Vijayawada from other places.
For a single bedroom house, the owners in Vijayawada are demanding Rs 10,000 per month and for a normal double bedroom house Rs 15,000 and for a furnished double bed room, they are demanding more than Rs 20,000.
