Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu might be considering himself a tech-savvy person and boasting about paperless government, but his officials are yet to match up to his expectations.
Leave alone hitech ways of resolving his issues, even telephones do not work under his governance. His government has claimed to have introduced toll-free helpline for farmers to get information on crop loan waiver, but within few hours after its launch, the helpline number to assist farmers to get information and register their grievances on crop loan waiver scheme fell dead.
A visibly embarrassed Agriculture Minister P Pullarao clarified that the toll-free helpline number, which was launched on experimental basis on single line, fell dead due to receipt of too many calls.
However, he said immediate measures were taken to start multiple toll-free help lines.
Later, the Mee Seva department issued a circular giving more numbers. The farmers can now call on the following toll-free numbers to get support and crop loan waiver scheme or register their grievances: 1100 (for Land Line Phone Users); 1800 425 4440 and 1800 103 2066. But, they, too have failed to resolve the crisis.
