Has Modi Decided To Ignore KCR?

There is more to the last minute denial of appointment to Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao by Prime Minister Narendra Modi than what meets the eye.

According to sources in New Delhi, the cancellation of appointment to a chief minister would rarely happen; only when there is an extreme situation.

Under those circumstances, the Prime Minister himself would call up the chief minister concerned and express regrets for not able to meet him. But in case of KCR, the communique came from the Prime Minister’s Office at the eleventh hour, indicating that Modi was not willing to meet KCR.

It was evident from the outburst of the TRS leader in Lok Sabha A P Jitender Reddy. He said Modi had come under pressure from the Telangana BJP leaders who had apparently given an impression to the Prime Minister that any attempt to entertain KCR would give advantage to the TRS in Telangana and the BJP would lose its hold.

“But Modi has forgotten the fact that it was KCR who stood by him in the hour of crisis, when the former was under attack from the Opposition parties over demonetisation,” Jitender Reddy said.

However, Modi was not interested in discussing the SC categorisation issue in the wake of Uttar Pradesh elections. Moreover, he did not want to give credit to KCR on the categorisation issue.

It is learnt Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi leader Manda Krishna Madiga is directly in touch with the Prime Minister through Dattatreya and others. So, Modi assured him that he would handle the issue at the Delhi level and there is no need for any interference from KCR, sources said.
