Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is no doubt well-known for his articulation and his speeches are a huge hit among the people.
But KCR thinks he can speak anything and get away with it, since people would believe him whatever he says. So, he fluently speaks lies, thinking that he can get the people carried by his speeches.
On Monday, the chief minister made a stunning statement – that the loan of Rs 80,000 crore taken for the construction of the mighty Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project has already been cleared.
“We have already achieved the return on investment on the project and we shall continue to get the same. Because of the project, there has been tremendous output of crops – sometimes, even 30 million tonnes of paddy, making Telangana No. 1 state in the country in the per capita income,” he said.
According to media reports, if KCR had really cleared the loans taken on Kaleshwaram project, it is definitely a miracle in the world.
At a time when the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh is struggling to complete the Polavaram project for want of funds to the extent of Rs 30,000 crore, it is definitely a great achievement, if KCR had really cleared Rs 80,000 crore loan taken just five years ago for Kaleshwaram project.
“If farmers are able to produce 30 million tonnes of paddy under Kaleshwaram project, why are they hitting the streets for remunerative prices? If they have become so rich, why should the government give it financial assistance under Ruthu Bandhu scheme?” the report, quoting an IAS officer said.
If KCR could have cleared Rs 80,000 crore loan on Kaleshwaram, why he is struggling to clear the debts of the state, which are mounting every year.
“Obviously, he is trying to divert the attention of the people from the allegations of corruption in Kaleshwaram project,” he said.
