The two-day visit of AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh to Hyderabad, apparently to hasten the process of Telangana State formation seems to have yielded no result.
According to political observers, his mission to woo a section of Seemandhra leaders to support the Telangnaa bill has misfired.
He made an attempt to rein in Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and prevent him from creating any hurdles for the smooth passage of T Bill in the Assembly, but could not succeed even to a small extent.
At the same time, his attempt to bring moral pressure on Telangana Rashtra Samithi leadership to merge the party with the Congress also has backfired.
What is more, the TRS instead of leaning towards the Congress has also begun sending feelers that it would prefer to join hands with the BJP rather than the Congress.
