Looks like the Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu has finally decided to go all-out in support of united Andhra Pradesh cause.
His recent press conferences, where he attacked the Congress for trying to drive a wedge between the Telugu people for the sake of electoral gains, gave an indication to this effect.
TDP MP Modugula Venugopal Reddy has claimed that they have been telling Naidu to take pro-Samaikyandhra stand for the last four years.
So, does it mean that Naidu has now agreed for it after making several flip-flops in the last four years.
In that case, why are the Telangana TDP leaders keeping quiet? None of the Telangana leaders of the party like Eraballi Dayakar Rao and Motkupalli Narasimulu are coming out criticizing the party leadership's change of stand.
It is time Naidu clarifies once and for all whether he is in favour of keeping the state united or bifurcation.
"We are sincerely making efforts to stall the division of the state. That is the reason why we have given notice for no-confidence motion against the UPA government," Venugopal Reddy, who is an MP from Narsaraopet, said.
Interestingly, the TDP floor leader in the Lok Sabha Nama Nageswara Rao is not a signatory to the notice for no-trust motion.
How can individual MPs move no-confidence motion against the government without the consent of their floor leader in the Parliament?
Is it not yet another double game being enacted by Naidu?
Every time the UPA government crosses an important milestone on its path to creation of separate Telangana state, Naidu appears before the media after much hesitation and makes a general attack on the Congress.
However, he always prefers to keep mum and remains evasive when asked about the specifics.
In his latest formulation, the TDP supremo demanded that the Centre stop the state bifurcation process till a solution acceptable to both Seemandhra and Telangana people emerged.
Does he really think that the people of Seemandhra and Telangana will come to an understanding on dividing the state?
