Has BJP Shut Doors On KCR And Jagan?

The recent visit of BJP president Amit Shah to Telangana to take on TRS president KCR and his subsequent luncheon meeting with TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu made one wonder whether the BJP has shut the doors on the new allies in the Telugu states – TRS in Telangana and YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh.

Both the TRS and the YSR Congress party would become the most potential and powerful allies for the BJP after 2019 elections.

While there is absolutely no doubt that the TRS would retain power in the next elections, too, the YSRC has great chances of coming to power in Andhra dethroning the TDP.

And the BJP, which has fair chances of retaining power at the Centre in 2019, would definitely need the support of stronger parties like the TRS and the YSRC, rather than a losing horse like the TDP.

But after Amit Shah’s visit, it was pretty evident that the BJP doesn’t want to severe ties with the TDP in the next elections.

A shrewd politician that he is, Chandrababu Naidu made every effort to pamper Shah by hosting him lunch and almost going head over heels to surrender before the BJP.

Under any circumstances, Naidu will not let go the BJP out of its hands, since he knows the TDP cannot win the next elections without the support of the BJP.

May be, the BJP doesn’t want to open up so early.

“There is still two years to go for the next elections. May be, it will review its strategy before the elections,” a source said.
