Grand Alliance In Offing To Beat KCR?

Grand Alliance In Offing To Beat KCR?

The opposition parties in Telangana seem to have realised that it is not so easy to beat the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi headed by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the next elections in 2019.

So, the only option before the Opposition parties is to join hands and fight unitedly with the TRS. If everything works out, they might form a grand alliance to fight together with the TRS in the next elections.

Apparently to test this combined strength, the Congress party has joined hands with the Telugu Desam Party to support the CPI-affiliated trade union All India Trade Union Council (AITUC) in the Singareni Collieries Labour Union elections scheduled to be held in the last week of September.

Needless to say, the CPI-M is also supporting the AITUC to fight against the TRS-led Telangana Trade Union Council.

If this anti-TRS front succeeds in winning the prestigious Singareni labour union elections, it would be a big achievement, as the coal mines comprises over a lakh of employees. That would pave way for a larger alliance all over the state to fight against the TRS in the next elections.

The other day, Telangana Congress chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Telangana TDP Working President A Revanth Reddy and Left party leaders gathered on the same dais and resolve to launch a united fight against KCR.

Depending on the outcome of the result, the opposition parties will chalk out an action plan to strengthen the Anti KCR Front before 2019 elections.

But, there is a cache. The TDP has an alliance with the BJP at present. If it has to join the grand alliance, it has to sever its ties with the BJP, at least in Telangana. Whether Naidu would agree for the same remains the million dollar question.
