A virtual tug-of-war has freshly broken out between TDP senior leader Devender Goud and Medak MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao on Tuesday, when the supporters of MLA thrashed Devender Goud’s personal assistant.
There is a long-standing rivalry between the two TDP leaders.
It is said in TDP circles that both the leaders had an axe to grind over the seat of Malkajgiri Assembly.
Mynampally had tried for party ticket for Malkajgiri Assembly, while Devender Goud opposed it tooth and nail.
Mynampally lashed out at Devender Goud openly several times on the issue.
On Tuesday, Mynampally and his supporters attacked the PA of Devender Goud at their party office NTR Trust Bhavan.
According to sources in TDP, they had beaten up Devender Goud's PA Harishankar Goud while accusing him of covert operations in favour of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
