The seven-member Group of Ministers (GoM) constituted to work out modalities on formation of Telangana will conduct its first meeting on October 11, according to reports from New Delhi.
The meeting, to be held under the chairmanship of Defence Minister A K Antony, will speed up the process of Telangana formation with the data already collected by Sri Krishna Committee and distribute the work among the members to go into finer details.
The other ministers in the GoM are Sushil Kumar Shinde (Home), P Chidambaram (Finance), Ghulam Nabi Azad (Health), M Veerappa Moily (Petroleum) and Jairam Ramesh (Rural Development).
Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office V. Narayanasamy is special invitee to the GoM.
It may be mentioned that no minister from the Andhra Pradesh has been included in the GoM which would look into the issues pertaining to bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh to carve out Telangana State.
