Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has offered golden crown and other ornaments worth Rs 3.70 crore to Goddess Bhadrakali in Warangal to fulfil his vow for realising the dream of separate Telangana state formation, but he has forgotten another important goddess.
Well, this goddess is none other than Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who had granted statehood to Telangana at the cost of her own party in both Telangana and Andhra. This was the view expressed by senior Congress leader and former MP V Hanumantha Rao.
“KCR has remembered the Ammavaru (the deity) but he forgot Soniamma (Sonia Gandhi) who made Telangana dream a reality. KCR should be thankful to Soniamma too,” VHR said.
He said it was wrong on the party of the Chief Minister to present the golden crown to the Bhadrakali temple with the public money and suggested that it would have been better for him to present the crown made out of his own money rather than using public money.
The Congress leader demanded the state government to conduct a caste-wise census of the state population and make the details public.
He said that the establishment of a BC Commission would not benefit the backward classes and demanded the state government to allot funds to the BCS based on their population.
He also demanded the government to increase the creamy layer limit of income for BCs to Rs 15 lakh per annum.
