Former minister and Cantonment MLA Shankar Rao on Monday laid foundation stone for a temple of AICC president Sonia Gandhi for her efforts in formation of Telangana State.
The temple is being constructed at Nandigaon village under Kottur mandal in Mahbubnagar district.
The stone laying ceremony coincides with the birth day of Sonia Gandhi.
Speaking on the occasion, Shankar Rao said he was building a temple of Sonia Gandhi for her gesture of conceding Telangana State.
“We have decided to build the temple in the name of Telangana Talli Mahakshetram and Sonia Gandhi Shantivanam,” he said.
On the election results in four States, he said it was failure of local leadership in four States.
The party cadre in Andhra Pradesh also was in the same position.
