Forget new capital, Naidu to shift to new home!

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is yet to take a final call on construction of new capital city of Amaravathi having historical prominence for the State, but he is all set to shift to a new home for himself soon in Hyderabad.

It is learnt that present residence of Naidu at Road No 65 is under renovation and repair works need almost one-and-a-half years.

Naidu is expected to move to a new posh home at Jubilee Hills on Road No 24 on April 12 which is being considered auspicious day.

Chandrababu and his family members, after seeing a few houses, have finally said to have zeroed in on the house they are willing to shift now.

Sources said the AP CM had to shift to a new residence, while works related to his dreaming new capital to be built a la Singapore and Japan – the buildings, facilities, and roads, are yet to begin.

Chandrababu a couple of days ago made public the first design offered by the Singapore Government to construct a new capital, which is no doubt coming up at Amaravathi for its Buddhism prominence.

It may be noted that the Centre, after dilly dallying for some time, granted Rs 1,500 crore for capital city construction and infrastructure. However, the AP Government is exerting pressure on the Centre to keep its promise of special status given to it.
