Stating that Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been placing personal interests over state interests, the YSR Congress party said that special status and Polavaram are the twin issues which would place the state on the path of development.
“Even after Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had categorically stated in the Parliament that special status is not possible to Andhra Pradesh TDP continuing in the coalition is ridiculous,” party MLA Kotamareddy Sridhar Reddy told reporters here on Tuesday.
Though Polavaram, which is the lifeline to the state, was declared as a national project why Chandrababu Naidu is not mounting pressure on the Centre shows that he has been placing his personal interests ahead of state interests as he is deeply involved in various scams including the cash for vote.
With the twin issues of special status and Polvaram being put on back burner, why should he continue in the NDA coalition if it is not for saving his skin from the corruption charges he is facing.
While special status was assured in the Parliament Polavaram was included in the State Reorganisation Act itself, yet Chandrababu Naidu has not been asserting himself for persona gains, he said.
The deadline on Polavaram has been continuously extending and it was TDP which has stalled development with litigation during YSR term and the litigants suddenly withdrew the cases after TDP came to power, he said and rejected the remarks that YSRCP was against development.
