Politics and corruption go hand in hand. Times are such that politicians make money and buy power through money.
In fact, in many instances, the only qualification for a person to be given a ticket is his or her money power.
So, to earn back the money spent in politics, won’t the politicians indulge in corruption? Of course, many of them make sure that they do it without the third party being aware of it.
In a movie, the hero offers Brahmanandam bribe. When Brahmi says he can’t accept bribes, the hero says what he offered is a gift and Brahmi takes it immediately. In real life, the process is no different.
Mines minister Peetala Sujata has been through a similar experience.
Apparently, all the mine businessmen in Prakasam district organized a felicitation ceremony for Sujata. So the big question was why she was felicitated when it’s barely been six months since she took over. Also, she has no background of social work. Added to that, Prakasam district is not her constituency.
Well, this surely means they did expect something out of the minister. But the businessmen did not stop there. They gifted her a box during the felicitation. Now, she is not their kith or kin to give her return gifts. Apparently, the box had a waist belt costing Rs 37 lakhs.
In short, it is a gift or bribe given by the mines businessmen to the minister. Since the issue has come out in the open, it is said that Chandra Babu is quite angry with minister Sujata.
Naturally, talk in political circles is that if the lobby went to her peshi and gifted her a bouquet and a garland and then placed the box on her table, the issue would have never come out.
After all, bribing someone is a gift and taking bribes is also a gift. Those who master the art become public heroes and also end up making crores of rupees, and those who don’t end up being zeroes. And if he makes more noise, he will also be sent to the jail.
