It looks like YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy finally got a clarity on how many MLAs would remain loyal to him.
Out of 67 MLAs who got elected on the party ticket in the 2014 elections in Andhra Pradesh, as many as 47 MLAs attended the YSRC Legislature party meeting convened by Jagan at Lotus Pond on Monday.
While six of the MLAs had already jumped the fence into the ruling Telugu Desam Party, as many as 13 MLAs abstained from the meeting on “personal grounds."
Prominent among them are: Sujaya Krishna Ranga Rao (Bobbili), Mani Gandhi (Kodumuru), Gouru Charitha (Panyam), Sivaprasada Reddy (Proddutur), Tippe Swamy (Madanapalli), Bala Nagi Reddy (Mantralayam), Venkata Ramana (Pathapatnam) and Mekapati Goutam Reddy (Atmakur).
While a couple of them had spoken to Jagan saying they had other engagements, others absented from the meeting without intimation, say sources. All those who attended the meeting expressed their loyalty to Jagan and his leadership.
“At least now, there is some clarity on who is going to be with me. Forget those who stayed away from the meeting, Let us go ahead with those present,” Jagan is learnt to have commented at the meeting.
