Chandrababu Naidu added a bit of emotion to the ongoing tussle between the farmers and the government over the ‘land pooling’ issue when he asked the farmers to give up their lands.
“I promise you that full justice will be done to you. You can rest assured that the government will take care of all your needs and your lives will be improved under the ‘land pooling’ scheme,” said Naidu addressing the farmers directly.
Unfortunately for Naidu, there seems to be few takers for his promise despite the fact that the ‘Yellow Media’, true to style is going all out in support of Naidu.
After Naidu’s bharosa, only four out of seventeen villages earmarked for land acquisition have acquiesced to the land pooling and that too on the condition of higher compensation than what is being offered.
The remaining villages have put aside all caste, kin and ‘Party’ affiliations and have decided to fight the government with everything they have.
