Yerragondapalem YSRCP MLA Palaparthi David Raju has jumped into the TDP in yet another setback to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. This brings the tally of the TDP in the Assembly to 109 and the YSRCP to 62.
Six MLA’s have been lured to the TDP of late and more defections are not ruled out.
Justifying his action, David Raju said, “The CM has promised to grant funds for the development of backward constituency of Yerragondapalem. He had been working hard to overcome bifurcation blues. I thought this is the right time to support Chandrababu Naidu and joined the party.”
As one can see, David Raju is merely reading off a template. It is the responsibility of Chandrababu Naidu to provide funds to MLA’s for development of their constituencies irrespective of their political affiliations.
How can Naidu promise funds to David Raju if the latter defects to the TDP? As for saying that Naidu is working to overcome the bifurcation blues, it is a ridiculous claim. What exactly has been the progress for AP in the last two years?
