On June 4, Narendra Modi issued a statement in Rajya Sabha that the Centre-State relations ought to be improved and this is possible only if the Center responds to the State governments.
Modi also made a shocking revelation that Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalitha had written 40 letters to the Manmohan Singh government and there was no response to at least a single letter.
Jayalalitha cleverly decided to put Modi to the test straightaway and shot off a letter to Modi expressing concern about the fate of Tamil Nadu Catholic priest, Rev. Alexis Prem Kumar, 47, who was abducted by gunmen June 2 at a school built and run by the Jesuit Refugee Service at Sohadat village in Afghanistan’s western Herat province.
Modi immediately shot of a reply saying that the authorities of India were in touch with their Afghani counterparts and all possible steps were being taken to see that the Reverend returned home unharmed.
So Modi has scored one more goal by walking the talk on this issue.
