Senior leader from Prakasam district and former Telugu Desam Party minister Siddha Raghava Rao is most likely to join the Jana Sena Party soon, reports appearing in a section of mainstream media.
According to these reports, Siddha Raghava Ra is likely to join the Jana Sena Party in the presence of its president and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan at the party’s plenary session to be held at Pithapuram on March 14.
Along with Siddha, several leaders from Prakasam district are expected to join the party.
Sources said former minister Balineni Srinivas Reddy, who also hails from Prakasam district is playing a key role in these defections.
Balineni, a close relative of YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, is now trying to establish his influence in Prakasam district and is actively bringing former YSRCP leaders into Jana Sena.
Recently, Balineni played a crucial role in inducting YSRCP corporators from Ongole into Jana Sena.
Siddha Raghava Rao, a veteran leader from Prakasam district, has a long history with the TDP. He served as a politburo member and was elected as an MLA from Darsi in 2014, later becoming the transport minister in Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet.
In 2019, he contested as an MP from Ongole but lost to YSRCP’s Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy. Following YSRCP’s victory, Siddha joined the party and aimed to contest from the Darsi constituency in 2024.
However, he was denied a ticket due to the presence of another strong leader, Buchepalli Shivaprasad Reddy. fter the 2024 elections, when the coalition government came to power, Siddha resigned from YSRCP and sought to return to the TDP.
Despite his close ties with Chandrababu Naidu, TDP leaders in the district were reluctant to welcome him back. Now, reports say Siddha got the green signal to join the Jana Sena, thanks to the lobbying by Balineni.
