YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Saturday virtually kick-started his campaign against ruling Telugu Desam Party in the run-up to the 2019 elections by releasing a book “Chandrababu Naidu-Emperor of Corruption” highlighting the alleged corrupt practices indulged in by the TDP president during his three-year rule as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Releasing the book at the party’s third plenary at Acharya Nagarjuna University campus at Mangalagiri in Amaravati, Jagan put the quantum of kickbacks, bribes, shares and commissions during the Naidu regime at Rs 3,75,000 crore.
“In the construction of capital city alone, there was a massive corruption of over Rs 1 lakh crore. And in the latest Visakhapatnam land scam, he, his son Lokesh and his party leaders had indulged in over Rs 1 lakh crore corruption,” he alleged.
The book, which is an updated version of the same book released last year, contains all the evidences with documents and government orders.
Jagan asked the party cadre to distribute the copies of the book to all parts of the state so that people would know the real face of Naidu.
Reacting sharply to Jagan’s book on Naidu, senior TDP leader and finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said the TDP would also publish a book on Jagan called “Emperor of Crimes,” listing out the crimes and financial irregularities allegedly committed by Jagan.
“We will explain the criminal activities of Jagan, how he went to jail and how he is running around courts. We will also distribute the copies of our book among the people,” he said.
