Anybody would start a business for earning. But several media houses emerged in Telugu states only with the hatred of Eenadu.
Director Dasari Narayana Rao was angry with Eenadu and started Udayam Daily with the initiation of Eenadu's first editor ABK Prasad. But there was widespread news at that time that the financial roots of Udayam were uprooted by imposing prohibition in those days. The talk was that the investors on Udayam were linked to the liquor business.
After some time the Sanghi Brothers were angry with Ramoji Rao and they started Vaartha. Again the same ABK Prasad was present in the initiation of that business. It was a superhit at some point of time but eventually went on in a bumpy ride.
Then comes the story of YSR who was angry with Eenadu again. He started Sakshi again in the aegis of ABK Prasad. But only Sakshi could vie with Eenadu effectively. The cost of production and salary bill was increased in Eenadu with the impact of Sakshi in the media market.
Though not any direct anger with Eenadu but Namaste Telangana and Velugu were started as parallel dailies to Eenadu.
Now MP Vijaya Sai Reddy is saying that he would bring in a TV channel with his anger on Eenadu group. He is also making it clear that he may even start a daily. What is the dire need of this when they have Sakshi daily and TV? Is he thinking that he needs to have one of his own?
The bottomline is that Eenadu is the main reason for the genesis of several dailies as parallel voices in the Telugu states.
