Eatala Hesitant To Accept BJP Ideology!

Former Telangana health minister Eatala Rajender has resigned from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and also his assembly membership.

He is going to join the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of its national president J P Nadda in New Delhi on Monday.

It is an open secret that Rajender has decided to join the BJP to get relief from the witch-hunt by the TRS government and avoid getting arrested in the land encroachment case. Otherwise, there is no other reason for him choose the saffron party.

Reason: Rajender was originally a Leftist ideologically. During his college days, he was an active leader of Progressive Democratic Students’ Union (PDSU), which is a student-wing of the CPI (Marxist-Leninist) New Democracy, a splinter group of the Naxalites.

Though hailed from a family of rich landlords, Rajender has this Leftist ideology in his veins.

As the CPI (ML) weakened, he joined the TRS to take part in the separate Telangana movement seriously. He even sacrificed some of his properties for the movement.

Naturally, Rajender appears to be feeling very uncomfortable in joining the BJP now. Though his political life has taken several turns in the last 17 years, his Leftist leaning is still there in his talk.

So, he is a little worried whether he could adjust himself in the BJP, where he will be forced to speak anti-communist rhetoric.

On Saturday, when he resigned from his assembly membership, Rajender desperately tried to convince the people that he had not completely given up his Leftist thinking while deciding to join the BJP.

“My DNA is secular. My agenda now is neither right nor left. My only agenda is to put an end to the dictatorial and feudal TRS rule being experienced by the entire Telangana people,” Rajender said, in his typical Leftist language.

He said though he had come from the Leftist background, he was joining the rightist party only to pull down the TRS.

“In fact, even the Leftist organisations are also extending my solidarity with me. Right from RSU to RSS, everybody is with me in Huzurabad in launching the second self-respect movement in Telangana,” he said.
