The decision of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to go in for early elections indicates not his confidence but his weakness.
This was the opinion expressed by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy.
He told his party functionaries that the likely decision of KCR to hold early elections for Telangana Assembly was nothing but a silent confession of his defeat.
“With the Congress party gaining strength organisationally across the State, KCR has already sensed a humiliating defeat in next polls. As a last attempt to protect his party from the rising Congress wave, the chief minister is going for early polls. But KCR must realise that he cannot stop a Congress tsunami by any means," he said.
Commenting on the public meeting being organised by TRS on Sunday, Uttam asked KCR to change its name from "Pragathi Nivedana Sabha" to "KCR Kshamapana Sabha" (Apology Meeting), as the KCR government had failed on fronts.
“KCR should aplogise to people for his failures," he said.
"If TRS is confident of its popularity, then why is it holding a mass public meeting by spending over Rs. 300 crore and misusing entire official machinery? If common people are already with TRS, then whom is it trying to impress?" he asked while claiming that people are now with the Congress party.
He also alleged that the TRS was spending illegal wealth that it accumulated during the last four years from Andhra contractors on its public meeting.
He alleged that TRS was assembling the crowd in the meeting by paying Rs. 500 per head.
