Dustbin comment: Diggy fumes at Kiran

AICC General Secretary in-charge of party affairs in Andhra Pradesh Digvijay Singh fumed at Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for calling for throwing the Telangana bill in the dustbin.

Interacting with media in New Delhi, Digvijay Singh wondered what the Chief Minister was doing when the Congress leadership was preparing the groundwork on the Telangana bill.

“Why didn’t he raise the issues of Seemandhra before the Congress Working Committee meeting on July 30? Why didn’t other Seemandhra leaders talk about it at the all-party meeting?” he asked.

He, however, refused to comment on Kiran’s remark that the Congress high command was acting like a Telangana party.

The AICC general secretary said the Congress was committed for the formation of Telangana State and there was no going back on it. All the concerns and demands of the people of Seemandhra would be addressed to with sincerity.

“It is wrong to state that we are not bothered about the concerns of the people of the region”, he observed.

He also reiterated that all steps would be taken for ensuring safety and security of the Seemandhra people living in Hyderabad. Their concerns in the matter of education and employment opportunities would also be resolved to their satisfaction, he added.
