DL: 'I Will Donate 10 L To Kiran Party'

Emerging from a self-imposed hibernation, former minister D L Ravindra Reddy has hit out at his bete noire and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. He ridiculed the reports that Kiran, an ardent supporter of the united Andhra Pradesh cause, is planning to launch a new political party to fight for integration.

"If Kiran indeed launches the party, I will donate Rs 10 lakh to the party fund," DL said in a sarcastic tone.

DL was dismissed from the Kiran Kumar Reddy cabinet on grounds of indiscipline. A known detractor of the Chief Minister, the legislator from Kadapa district said that Kiran does not trust anyone. "He suspects his own shadow," the former Minister said.

“The new party, if floated, will bring into light the greatness of Kiran Kumar Reddy and also people will come to know what he has done for the people," DL said.

Taking a further dig at the CM, he said, "I assume Kiran does not have trust even in his own relatives. He is very self-centered person."

Alleging that Kiran had not spared even 10 minutes to console the victims of Neelam cyclone earlier, the former minister said that the victims were yet to get compensation.

“This exposes the governance of the CM. He is diverting funds to his native district, Chittoor, at the cost of neighbouring districts," he alleged.

He dismissed the charge by senior Congress leaders J C Diwakar Reddy and Lagadapati Rajagopal that the Congress High Command had entered into a secret pact with the YSR Congress Party.

"I do not think the Congress wants to benefit at the national level at the cost of the state," he said.

It was also not right to blame Congress chief Sonia Gandhi for the decision to bifurcate the state.

“It is only after all the parties gave their consent that the Congress started the exercise of bifurcating the state," he said.
