Disgruntlement brewing in YSRC against advisor

After the latest debacle of the ruling YSR Congress party in the MLC elections, simmering discontent within the party is now coming to the open.

Several YSRC MLAs are now openly discussing the failed strategies of the party leadership in the MLC elections, which gave the impression among the people that the opposition Telugu Desam Party is bouncing back.

Interestingly, many of these MLAs are dissatisfied not with the party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, but with the style of functioning of his advisor and party general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy.

“He doesn’t give respect to the MLAs and talks to them in a disrespectful tone. He has become a block between them and Jagan and doesn’t allow them to meet the party president. He is behaving like a de facto chief minister and party president, taking decisions on behalf of Jagan,” a senior party leader said.

According to him, Sajjala has been giving wrong feedback to Jagan on many MLAs who don’t toe his line.

“It was because of Sajjala’s wrong strategies that the party has lost the MLC seats in the graduates’ constituencies,” he said.

Another important factor for the party’s loss in the MLC elections is the wrong strategies adopted by the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) led by Rishi Raj Singh.

“The I-PAC team is misleading the party and has not been doing proper ground reports. Yet, the team is able to get away with it because of Sajjala, who is hand in glove with it. Both I-PAC and Sajjala are misleading Jagan,” the party leader said.
