Discontent brewing in YSRC in Guntur?

Discontent brewing in YSRC in Guntur?

It appears a discontent of sorts is brewing silently in the YSR Congress party in Guntur district, if the reports in a section of media are any indication.

According to these reports, the way YSRC leadership has been encouraging Chilakaluripet MLA Vidadala Rajini is not being taken kindly by the other party leaders in the district, particularly Narsaraopet Lok Sabha member Lavu Krishna Devarayalu.

It is an open secret that a cold war has been going on between Krishna Devarayalu and Rajini for quote some.

Both the leaders have been maintaining their respective groups, but with Rajini has the strong backing of the top leaders of YSRC, the MP’s group is totally disgruntled.

However, reports said the Krishna Devarayalu has, of late, received support from former Chilakaluripet MLA Marri Rajasekhar, who was denied the MLC ticket, despite repeated assurances from party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy before the last assembly elections.

As a result, Rajasekhar has been nursing a grouse against Rajini, as he is of the view that she is stonewalling his chances.

Now, he has joined hands with the Narsaraopet MP and both are now openly opposing Rajini, leading to an infighting in the Guntur unit of the YSRC. Both the groups are now said to filing complaints with the police against each other.

Unfortunately, the party leadership has not been making any attempt to bring about a patch-up between the two groups. There is also a talk that the party leadership is deliberately sidelining Krishna Devarayalu and his group for its own reasons.

A few days ago, there was an official programme at Chilakaluripet, which was attended by several ministers and MLAs. But there was no invitation to Krishna Devarayalu.

Obviously, it has hurt the MP, who reportedly lodged a complaint with the chief minister, but there was not much response from him.

It remains to be seen how far these differences within the party will go and whether the party leadership will be able to resolve the same.
