The Congress high command should initiate a disciplinary action against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for questioning its decision to divide the State to form separate Telangana.
This was the demand made by former minister T Jeevan Reddy on Saturday.
“The Chief Minister deserves severe disciplinary action for speaking against the party's decision on Telangana issue. In fact, he should have resigned from the post before campaigning for Samaikhyandhra,” he said.
Jeevan Reddy felt that it was immoral on the part of Kiran to use the Rachabanda programme as a political platform to speaking against State's division.
The Chief Minister should have focused on completing the pending works before the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, instead of making efforts to stop Telangana formation, he said.
He also dismissed statements with regard to the status of Hyderabad.
The Congress Working Committee in its resolution had already clarified that Hyderabad would be part of Telangana State although it would serve as the joint capital for a period of 10 years. Therefore, he said that the debates on the status of Hyderabad were irrelevant and unnecessary.
