Is Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao not confident of winning the ongoing assembly elections in Telangana?
For once, he sounded pessimistic when he said at a public meeting in Nirmal on Thursday that he had nothing to lose if his party lost the elections in Telangana.
“I am not going to lose anything, if the TRS is defeated in the elections. I will simply go home and take rest. But the people of Telangana will have to face a lot of problems, if the Congress comes to power,” he said.
May be, KCR might have said it so only to caution the people that the state would suffer heavily if the Congress-led Maha Kootami is voted to power.
He even explained how there would be numerous problems if the Congress comes to power, like lack of proper electricity in villages and stalling of irrigation projects etc. But it also sounded as if he is afraid that the people might vote the TRS out of power.
The Congress party also lost no time in cashing in on this “weak statement” from KCR. The social media wing of the party has widely circulated the video clipping of KCR’s statement stating that he had conceded the defeat much before the polls.
Telangana PCC president and firebrand leader Revanth Reddy also ridiculed KCR’s statement saying the latter would have no option but to take rest at home after the elections.
He also pointed out the statement of KCR’s son K T Rama Rao that the latter would quit politics, if the TRS lost the elections.
“But, we will not allow the father and son to go scot free after losing the elections. We will make them cough up what they had looted in the last four years,” Revanth said.
