Did Harish meet tapping scam accused in US?

The sudden visit of Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader and former minister T Harish Rao to the United States on May 26 has caused a stir in political circles.

The ruling Congress party quickly leveraged Harish Rao’s five-day trip, with State Road and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy alleging that Rao met with former Special Intelligence Bureau chief T Prabhakar Rao, the prime accused in the phone-tapping case, who is currently hiding in the US.

Venkat Reddy claimed that Harish Rao went to the US under instructions from BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao to persuade Prabhakar Rao not to return to India.

Komatireddy stated that Prabhakar Rao was moving between Chicago and Colorado and met with Harish Rao out of fear that he might turn approver in the case. He criticized KCR for not directly asking Prabhakar Rao to confess if there was any wrongdoing.

Venkat Reddy also accused the BJP-led Union government of not issuing a red corner notice against Prabhakar Rao, despite making a request a month ago.

Harish Rao denied these allegations, challenging Komatireddy to an open discussion about his US visit.

He stated that he would present all details, including his passport, air tickets, and hotel accommodations, to prove the legitimacy of his trip.

Harish Rao further remarked that the R&B minister seemed to have lost his sanity by making such unfounded accusations.
